Draper, Utah
Draper, Utah is located about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City and on the edge of Utah County. The first family settled in Draper in 1849 and called the immediate location South Willow Creek. The area grew rapidly, and by the end of 1852, the city had grown to over 20 families. The city was originally known as Draperville which was named after the first settlement leader William Draper III. The incorporation date of Draper is February, 22 1978.
Draper City has a history rich with the pioneer spirit. This farming community has quickly escalated into one of the most desirable areas to live in the state of Utah. The community maintains the charm and green pastures of its early days.
New businesses are coming to town. Beautiful homes are being built. Community centers and churches are being added into the mix. And the historic charm remains. The community is coming together, and the people who reside here are proud to call Draper their home.
Hang Gliding and Paragliding is a popular sport in Draper. There are many mountains to fly from, and Draper has one of the best flying sites in the country; the famous "Point of the Mountain".
